The human race is constantly evolving and inventing new methods and machines to help us with our work and chores. But why exactly? Why do scientists and researchers feel the need to invent new things? The answer is simple: we want to work less and save time.

According to a study by mathematician Katie Steckles, technology saves up to two weeks of an average person’s time that would otherwise be spent on cooking, waiting in lines, shopping in supermarkets, or other mundane daily activities.

But how exactly does technology save us time? One of the clearest examples of this efficiency is online shopping. Online shopping comes in many forms and each of them saves you quite a bit of time in comparison to their real-life alternatives. For instance, grocery shopping online with things such as curbside pickup or actual grocery delivery saves you all the time that would have been spent going to the store, walking up and down the aisles, finding your items, and checking out in the actual physical grocery store. Depending on how many groceries you are picking up, that can be up to even an hour saved purely from doing the shopping online with just a few clicks. And that’s just groceries. Shopping for all of your other necessities in everyday life online saves you quite a bit of time as well. Clothes, housewares, shoes, technology, and anything else you could possibly need can also be bought online as opposed to taking the time to go to the stores that carry these items.

Another clear example of technology saving time for the average person daily is online maps and navigation. When driving somewhere, the worst feeling is getting stuck in a traffic jam, sitting in your car barely moving along and making no progress. These online maps and navigation services keep track of traffic stops, crashes, and other incidents that would cause delays and help drivers avoid these. This saves you time on your daily commute by bringing you on the quickest, most efficient route to your destination. They do all of the calculations of the best roads to take in order to get somewhere quicker so that you do not have to. This saves you time not only in your driving itself but also the time that would be spent figuring out a route beforehand to know where to go. “Mobile devices alone are saving users around an hour each week by making navigation more efficient and giving traffic updates and public transport times.” An hour a week adds up very quickly in the course of the year, and suddenly this technology alone has saved you about two days of time.

Banking is yet another example of technology saving time. Online banking apps give you options for checking your account, depositing money, and making transfers without actually having to go to the bank, waiting in lines, and working with tellers in order to get these tasks done. All of these options save you time that you can then spend doing something other than standing in line at the bank.

Of course, technology does have its downsides but saving time is a huge upside that cannot be ignored or put aside in discussions about technology. An average of two weeks each year saved is a significant amount of time that can then be spent doing other things. Technology helps us with shopping, cooking, banking, travel, and several other things in order to make our lives easier. When we use the technology we save time.

In addition to saving us time on mundane daily activities like shopping or banking or driving somewhere new; technology has also made it easier for us to communicate with people who are far away from us through social media platforms like Facebook or Twitter or Instagram or WhatsApp or Skype or Zoom etc., which has made it easier for people who live far apart from each other to stay connected with each other without having to travel long distances just for a short visit.

Technology has also made it easier for people who are disabled or elderly or sick or injured or otherwise unable to leave their homes easily due to mobility issues etc., by providing them with access to various services like telemedicine which allows them to consult with doctors remotely over video calls instead of having to travel long distances just for a check-up.

Moreover, technology has made it easier for people who are interested in learning new things by providing them with access to various educational resources like online courses or tutorials or webinars, etc., which they can access from anywhere at any time without having to attend classes physically.

In conclusion, technology has made our lives easier by saving us time on mundane daily activities like shopping or banking, or driving somewhere new; by making it
